We operate five monitoring stations in our three county jurisdictional area that continuously provide outdoor air quality information. These monitors measure ground-level ozone (O3), particle pollution (also known as particulate matter or PM), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). We also have monitors that track meteorological conditions and visibility. In addition, large air pollution sources, like refineries, are required to operate continuous emission monitors to measure air pollution coming directly from their stacks.
